Senior Session with Elise | Belle Isle & Downtown Detroit

Every senior has a vision. Elise, a Lutheran North High School senior, came to me knowing she wanted something special—something that felt like her. She dreamed of flowers and city vibes, a little nature mixed with the bold beauty of Detroit. And I knew just how to make it happen.

There aren’t many flower fields in the heart of Detroit—but when you've been scouting locations for a while, you know where the little gems hide. During Elise’s style consult (where we chat all about outfits, locations, and session goals), I suggested a mix of two places: 🌿 A hidden nature spot on Belle Isle for that soft, floral touch, and 🌇 A rooftop in downtown Detroit to catch the sunset and city lights.

She lit up at the idea—and that’s when I knew this session would be something truly magical.

We also stopped at the gorgeous Belle Isle fountain, which added a timeless and elegant vibe to her gallery. These little stops in between locations always turn out to be some of my favorite moments.

Part Two | Softball, Sunset, and Golden Hour

A few weeks after our Detroit adventure, we met again at her softball field. Capturing Elise doing something she loves, in a space that holds so many memories, made the session feel even more personal. The golden hour light? Perfection. It wrapped around her like a glow—soft, dreamy, and powerful.
