Before things get crazy, I put together a few amazing senior trips for you and your besties (or your fave grown-ups) to make the most of your last summer before senior year. Whether you're looking for senior adventures, a final getaway with your senior BFFs, or just a fun escape before school starts, these trips have you covered. Most are perfect for a day trip, but a couple might be even better as a weekend trip if you're up for it!

1. Beach Day & Mini Golf in Holland, MI

Drive Time: 2.5 hours (easy day trip!)

  • Start with breakfast at The Breakfast Club in Grand Rapids (you’ll need that fuel!).

  • Spend the day at Holland State Park, snapping senior year beach pics by the lighthouse and soaking up the sun.

  • Grab lunch in downtown Holland at The Curragh or a cozy local café.

  • Challenge your senior BFFs to mini golf at Smuggler’s Cove (yes, it’s pirate-themed!).

  • End the trip with ice cream at Captain Sundae—because every senior adventure needs a sweet ending!

2. Explore Detroit & Dearborn

Drive Time: 15-30 minutes (super chill!)

  • Kick off the day with breakfast at The Hudson Café in Detroit (so good!).

  • Visit the Detroit Institute of Arts for artsy pics and some culture.

  • Grab lunch in Greektown or get a classic Coney Dog from Lafayette.

  • Take a history break at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn (because old cars and innovation are cooler than they sound!).

  • End with a sweet treat at Milk & Froth—a must for any senior year trip.

3. Adventure at Sleeping Bear Dunes

Drive Time: 3 hours (perfect for a weekend getaway!)

  • Start your trip with breakfast at Bagger Dave’s in Farmington Hills.

  • Hike the Sleeping Bear Dunes, one of the most scenic spots in Michigan, and grab some Insta-worthy shots with your senior BFFs.

  • Refuel at Leelanau Coffee Roasting Co. in Empire for a cozy lunch.

  • For the adventurous, kayak or float down the Crystal River—the perfect way to soak in the last days of summer.

  • Wrap up the trip with cherry pie or ice cream from The Cherry Hut in Beulah.
