(And Why You Don’t Have to Leave Town for Gorgeous Senior Photos)

There’s something special about Washington Township — and it’s not just that I live here. It’s the kind of place that feels like home the minute you slow down and take it in.
As a senior photographer (and a mom of three), I’ve spent years photographing teens in all kinds of beautiful places, but the heart and charm of Washington Twp always draw me back. It’s quiet but full of life. Surrounded by nature but packed with community. It’s the kind of town where seniors grow up grounded — and I get to help them celebrate that.
What Makes Washington Township So Unique?

This corner of Michigan is full of spots that feel like hidden gems — the kind of places that don’t need a
filter. We’ve got golden light, winding bike trails, wide-open fields, historic barns, and a downtown that feels like it belongs in a Hallmark movie.
Whether I’m photographing a cheerleader from Romeo High School or a soft-spoken, creative girl who loves books and art, Washington Township always delivers the perfect setting.
Local Traditions That Make This Town Feel Like Home
If you’re from around here, you already know the magic of:
The Peach Festival in downtown Romeo every Labor Day
Cozy fall days apple picking at local orchards
Hiking or biking as a family through the Stony Creek trails
Cold treats at Trailside Ice Cream
Wandering Frontier Town and stopping at Back in the Day records
Getting your coffee fix (and maybe a cookie) downtown at Mains Treat Coffee
And let’s not forget Tilson Street on Halloween — the whole neighborhood goes all in, and it’s the best kind of spooky small-town energy

These aren’t just places we visit — they’re part of the story. And for seniors growing up here, those little traditions are part of what make their sessions so personal.

Favorite Senior Photo Locations in Washington Twp
There are so many places in Washington Township and nearby Romeo that make the perfect backdrop for senior pictures. Some of my go-to spots include:
• Stony Creek Metropark
Wooded trails, open fields, and a hidden lake that glows at golden hour.
• Wolcott Mill
That rustic barn? It’s a favorite for earthy, nature-loving seniors who want something timeless.
• Downtown Romeo
Cobblestone sidewalks, vintage storefronts, and that cozy small-town feel that never gets old.
• Mains Treat Coffee Shop or Frontier Town
Want to add something fun and a little quirky to your session? These spots make for adorable photo moments.
And yes — I have a few locations I keep just for my clients. These are the quiet, tucked-away spots where the light is perfect and the whole session just clicks.

What I Love About Seniors in Washington Township
Over the years, I’ve photographed seniors from all across Michigan — but there’s something about the girls (and guys!) from Washington Twp.
They’re kind. Driven. Down-to-earth. They’re cheerleaders, artists, and honor students. They’ve started their own businesses, taken college classes, and still show up for their friends.
Every one of them has a unique story — and I love that I get to help them tell it through photos that actually feel like them.

You Don’t Have to Travel Far for Senior Photos That Feel Like You
So many seniors think they have to go to Detroit or wait for vacation to get photos that stand out — but honestly? Some of the best sessions I’ve ever done happened right here in Washington Township and Romeo, Michigan.
You don’t need a trendy city or a studio session to look amazing. You need real connection, beautiful light, and a photographer who gets how to bring out your personality — and that’s what I’m here for.
